My Old Pictures
Wednesday, December 21, 2005

I've been browsing at our family albums and I was able to scan some pretty old pictures. Let me share them with you.

Photo #1
Their Wedding

This was taken during my parents' wedding. This was in June of 1982. This is taken in my lola's house (my mother's mother). They seem pretty excited and happy don't you think? This house no longer looks like this. It was rebuilt because of flooding and other natural causes, wear and tear, decay what have you. I don't know who the other three people in the picture are.

What in the world? I'm not even included here. This was taken six years ago, when my uncle (Uncle Ting) and his family immigrated to Winnipeg. This was taken at the parking area of NAIA. Dunno which one specifically. I'm not here again. Maybe I was the one taking the picture.

Again, I'm not included, I really think I took this one. My parents are here and so is my aunt and my cousins. Whose blog is this supposed to be? No pictures of me again. This was taken at my uncle's house, this was their despedida party.

Aha! There I am. This was taken around 1986 I think. This is our terrace, and like what Rex Navarrete said in one of his sketches, the Filipino house is impenetrable because of broken glass incorporated in the fence. The things that reflect light in our fence are pieces of broken glass.

This was taken August '86. I think it's around Ninoy's third death anniversary. As you can seem i'm sporting the Laban sign, popularized by our then President Cory, who got the presidency only because he was Ninoy's widow. See we have a black and white tv, which uses a dial to change channels. [reminiscing] Life was so simple back then. No cellphones. No internet. I had no problems whatsoever. I had no issues. [/reminiscing] I'll add more next time =)

My Trip (part II)
Tuesday, December 20, 2005

So I went to Baguio. Here's how my trip began. I was hangin' at the tambayan, calling ma'am tessa. Ana was about to leave and I asked him if I could join him since Nes wasn't going. He said yes. Of course I was only joking, I had no money, saan ako kukuha ng pang-gastos. Well Ana said, he'll lend me money, and I couldn't refuse him. Someone had to accompany him because it was expected. Anyway, so we went. We took a taxi from UP to the MRT station at Quezon Ave, we went off at Ayala Ave. Funny thing happened on the way to the Shell station where we'll meet up with our companions for the trip. As we were waiting for the traffic sign to say "walk" a man jaywalked. Ana looked at me and said "di hinuli?" I just shrugged and looked at him, and then I looked at the traffic aide who let the man walk free. Well we got tired of waiting and then we asked the aide if we could also do the same, he just said "go."

At the Shell station, we boarded the van that would take us to the City of Pines. Some of the passengers teased me and my red shoes. They warned me not to wear them during times when security is the utmost concern, you know what I mean. So it was the start of my journey back to the City of Pines, the last time I went there, I was still a sophomore in college. We stayed at Pao's house. This time, though unbenknownst to me at that time, we will be staying at the Baguio Country Club. We stayed I think at cottage 112, I had the 2nd room upstairs, good thing it had cable tv. Of course it would. It had to have tv. We left Makati at 3pm and we arrived in Baguio around 11pm, we were finally settled around 12mn and I got to sleep at 5am.

The following morning we had to buy clothes, as the trip was really abrupt and I wasn't able to pack. We went to the ukay-ukay where I bought a red coat. Then we went to SM City Baguio to buy shirts and other personal stuff. Afterwards, we went back to the cottage to have lunch. I had liempo. Well we all had liempo. Walking around Baguio is really tiring, with the street sloping up. I was catching my breath, I realized I need to jog more.

In the evening, we went to a party. I went back to the cottage early because I wanted to sleep. And sleep soundly I did.

My Trip (part I)
Saturday, December 17, 2005

Alam niyo ba yung kanta ng PnE na Absorbing Man? Well it is one of my favorites in their Bigotilyo album. This past week is one of the most exciting weeks of my life, albeit memorable. Nakapunta ako ng Baguio hanggang Los Banos this week. I would have taken pictures if I had a decent camera, kaso ang dala ko lang eh yung t610 ko. So what was I doing in Baguio, how in the world did I end up in Los Banos, and what was I doing at Marikina at 3 in the morning? I dunno, I just wanted to have fun and hang out with my friends, most of which are friends from high school. The only thing missing was Tintin, pity she couldn't join me, she's at her new job, eh ang sked niya is 830-530. There was no way she could come with me.

On my trip to Baguio, I was able to eat in 4 different provinces, I had merienda in Bulacan, dinner in Pangasinan, of course in Baguio too, where we stayed for two days. The cottage where we stayed is splendid. On the way home, they dropped me off at San Fernando, so nag dinner din kami dun. I ate my first turkey sa Baguio, di masarap yung turkey kung walang gravy, bland. We arrived in Baguio around 11pm, wala nga akong dalang sweater, actually, all the clothes in my bag were dirty. We had to go shop the following day, pero di naman sa ukay, bibili ka ba ng underwear dun, gross. So saan kami namili?

I also took a picture of that big Lion's Head kaso di ko pa na-upload eh. I took it on the way down.

My Frustration
Monday, December 12, 2005

December na naman. That means, you have Eng'g week, the Lantern Parade, Christmas parties, long exams before the vacation and other events associated with this month. The ones I named, are the ones that are close to home.

It's so frustrating not being able to do anything. When things are out of control, I feel so hopeless. To you who should be reading this, I'm sorry for doubting but I can't help it. I'm not getting what I deserve, I should be treated better. I feel as if I have been doing everything, sometimes I feel like I need to be on the receiving end. It's hard. It's not yet over. We should talk. You won't be reading this I bet. Ah what the heck. It's therapy. It's better this way, at least I get to release my angst. I still feel tense. This weekend is one I should just forget about. I have better things to do and I shouldn't dwell on events that do not have any positive effect on me. And with this, I end.

I didn't even remember now why I was frustrated.
