My Vote
Sunday, February 18, 2007

I can't vote this coming May. The reason for that is I'm not registered. Here in our province, the gubernatorial post is heavily contested, pitting incumbent Gov. Lapid against BM Lilia Pineda. Most of the mayors in Pampanga have withdrawn their support for Lapid, advocating instead the bid of Pineda.

If it were me, I'd rather vote for Lilia Pineda. Did you know that for the past 12 years, Pampanga has fallen from being the #1 province in terms of economic growth/develoment to #4. From #1 in the country, Pampanga fell to #4 in Central Luzon! How in the world can something like that happen? What was the governor doing? In a recent statement, Vice Gov. Guiao stressed that the Provincial Development Council has yet to convene in 12 years since the Lapids' took over from Guiao's father, the late Gov. Bren Z. Guiao. Anyway, I'm hoping that Mark Lapid won't win another term. This province deserves better.

I saw Alan Peter Cayetano's campaign ad last night. I was hoping he would just reuse his sister's jingle. It sounds okay di ba? "Kay Peter, Peter Cayetano!" Hahaha.
