My Ordinary Day
Monday, April 11, 2005 Nothing much happening around these parts these days. Its just a plain vacation, spending hours and hours of sleep, looking at the computer, staring, playing. Although it is quite a surprise I hadn't updated my blog. I went to Tagaytay last week. I spen the entire weekend lazily strolling around. We went to Tagaytay to experience the lush greenery and the fresh air, but the weather was not a comfort. It was surprisingly hot. Does the phrase "exact change" mean anything to you? In Filipino it means "tamang sukli." Apparently for the NLEX, "exact change" means "exact fare" but we don't use the term "change" for fee or fare, it means sukli in the vernacular, or loose coins, or change for large bills, you get my drift. My father tried to pass thru this lane and he paid P100 and asked for his change, the teller refused to give him his change, but he argued the reason he chose to pass thru that lane is that it gives exact change, implying that the other lanes do not. Anyway, to cut the story short, he paid for the exact fare because the teller wouldn't exactly give him his "exact change." Point is, the new NLEX should use appropriate signs. I was reading a lot of love quotes, browsing thru peyups. Sadly, right now I cannot think of one of my own. But I have to agree about the one that said love makes poets of us all. After this summer, I would be in my 7th year in UP. I don't say I'm proud of it, but it is something that I have to accept. And I'm still enjoying it, and I will enjoy it up to the day that I graduate. You'll miss it when it's gone. I might accompany my bro when he goes to UP this week. The School of Economics may have rejected me when I applied there, my dreams of being an economist may as well be realized by my brother. He's an incoming Business Economics major. Too bad Prof. Canlas isn't there anymore. He's the brother of my doctor. And also the great thing about next year, I might be able to be in my bro's PE class. Who knows? Maybe we'll be classmates. Last week, I was in UP and I didn't get my classcards as they weren't ready. Hope I get them this week. It's already Monday and I might go to bed in a while. Also good thing our high school batch has a new forum. Oh and did you know? Dean Guevarra is an alumni of pisay, and also Dr. Vea, currently president of Mapua, and Butch Dalisay I think, according to Aris. So this is where the alumni are. |
